    Homeostasis

is the place I want to be
after the death of my old fig tree

All the pieces in their place
    no wrong chords

It is a thing of beauty
I have been searching for since I was three

Fine beers and the winter is coming
    No one’s eyes watching

    Finding its own balance
    like my dream girl’s glance

    Crickets sang in perfect harmony
before a cold wind adjusted my memory

Homeostasis is the place I want to be
    where I can be free

    The wind is just right
    for the monarch’s flight
